Marine conservation is a society where a group of people pull together to keep the seas an beaches clean for sea life. They also influence sustainable seafood choices as there are too many fish taken from the sea for food, they do this because there is too much rubbish being thrown into the sea in very little done to protect marine life, in our UK seas, familiar species such as the common skate, angel shark and sturgeon are now critically endangered, the Marine conservation say it's down to excessive fishing and not being sustainable with the repopulation of the species. The marine conservation say that people must take protective measures that may mean closing off areas from harmful use, to allow replenishment and recovery and to fish at a certain time of the year for fish so it allows repopulation for the species of fish. Now in the UK 22 species of out marine wildlife or now considered to be threatened with extinction, 88% of Europe’s fish stocks are overfished or depleted. MCS works to reduce the overfishing which is devastating the life in our sea.
The pollution of our seas and our excessive fishing is directly affecting our sea wildlife, it is threatening some species with extinction and it also harming coral reefs, according to MCS we are only aware of a mere 3% of sealife species and if the pollution etc. carries on we wont be able to learn about all the other species.
